Creating a Untìl Uru server network ('Shard')

Chip just told me how to set up a network of UUru servers (also called Shard). So I'll write a short tutorial for the rest of the world.

  1. Install the UUru servers normally on all machines that should become part of the shard.
  2. Edit the {server path}/etc/servers.list on all servers apart from one (to which I'll reference as the 'main' server). Delete all lines except this one: "plNetServerAgent"
  3. Now edit the servers.list on the main server. Just delete the line "plNetServerAgent".

  4. After that edit PlasmaServers.ini of all servers. Set the PLS var to the ip of the main server. (The main server should point to 127.0.0.1 or whatever you need on your machine.)

Now you can start the main server as the first server and continue starting the other servers. The main server will tell them what they should do.
